Penobscot Bay cruise with cruising club from Cyc
We just got back from cruising up the coast in thick fog. There were days when we never saw anything from place to place but as usual we made the best of it and had a great time anyway. Boats came and joined us as they saw fit. D. Pierce on Tango, vice commordore of CYC gave us the itinerary and we joined when we felt like it.We started out the first night at Damiscove Island and from there we went to Tenents Harbor and had a feast on fresh cod at Cod End. Went from there to Vinalhaven and on to Seal Bay. What a lovely spot. Tucked way in. Met new friends and had a lovely cocktail party on Tango Next morning parted ways and headed for Perrys cove for the night.. Next morning we headed for Tenents Hbr. again and met up with Tango and Zephyr. In the morning we headed to Boothbay Regional Boat Yard off the Sheepscot River. Nice place in the morning we walked to general store with the crew from Zephyr,Burleigh and Deb. Walke dback and saw Dave on Tango who had engine trouble and had pretty well had it fixed. Saw Andy and Gay Howe drying out after a horrendous rainstorm the night before. On to Portland Harbor and clean out boat and head home until the next adventure.

July 4-5- 2009
Hi all, we went out to a mooring on Cliff Island in Casco bay. Weather was iffy but we managed to have a good time between the raindrops. We walked all over the island both days. We walked over to the ferry terminal and had hotdogs and ice cream with friends and on the way back the skys opened up and we took shelter in an open garage until the worst went by. That night we watched fireworks from 6 different towns. it was awesome. On the day after the fourth the town of cliff Island had foot races and activitys for the children such as a bicycle parade for all ages and then the whole island turned out for a lobster feed to benefitthe children of the island activitys program.
